About Timberland
The Abington Shoe Company changed their name in 1973 to the Timberland Company due to the extreme popularity of their outdoor waterproof boots. By 1985 they had sold over 1 millions pairs of Timberlands and keep in mind that was pre-internet times. In the 1990s they were also endorsed by several famous rappers, among them Jay Z, Notorious BIG, DMX and Mobb Deep which catapulted their sales into trippling and led to them reaching international iconic brand status.
